BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Common Council President David Franczyk supports Congressman Brian Higgins insistence that Bass Pro make a decision in the next 14 days. Franczyk said, "It's time for Bass Pro to either fish, or cut bait."

However, Common Council members put off a vote on Tuesday of the transfer of ten crucial acres of land needed for the waterfront project to move forward, including Bass Pro.

The Buffalo Common Council has not acted on the land transfer of the Webster block from the city to the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation.

Councilmembers say they need more time to consider the deal the Mayor Brown struck with the Harbor Development Corporation.

Some lawmakers are still hoping for a community benefit agreement, which includes a living wage for those who work on the waterfront.

The question of the land transfer is expected to be brought up at next Tuesday’s Community Development Committee meeting, of the common council.
