Witnesses say the boy had just walked out of a Tops store on Niagara Street with his grandfather when a car accelerated in reverse twice, knocking down a guardrail and pinning the boy against a wall.

People at the scene say the driver then tried to take off.

Witness Timothy Mercedes said, "He was thinking of driving away. I stood next to him, pushed him, and put car in park."

Witness Shawna Edwards said, "It was crazy. It seemed like he had no worries on earth. As I said, he was going to hit everything and anything on the way out."

Colon was pronounced dead at Women and Children's Hospital.

So far, police have not filed charged against the driver who is believed to be in his 50's.
