BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thursday, family and friends will gather on the steps of Buffalo City Hall to mark what would have been Amanda Wienckowski's 23rd birthday.

A vigil is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday.

Her body was discovered in a Buffalo garbage tote more than two years ago.

The Erie County Medical examiner maintains the Lewiston woman died of a drug overdose, but her family believes she was murdered.

They've hired a Los Angeles pathologist in hopes of getting more insight into Amanda's death.
