BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The compensation crusade produced a victory for those who worked at Bethlehem Steel during the atomic age.

The U.S. Labor Department is notifying all former nuclear weapons employees who worked at the Lackawanna site between 1949 and 1952 that they've been added to a new class of compensation. This provides benefits for qualified employees who may have became ill while working with hazardous materials.

Surviving family members could also be eligible for benefits.
