BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A live TV special will broadcast right from the heart of a Buffalo landmark on Halloween. The crew of SYFY's "Ghost Hunters" are setting up in the Central Terminal.
On Halloween night from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m., the SYFY channel will host its annual "Ghost Hunters Halloween Live" at the historic Buffalo Central Terminal.
"Beyond Ghosts" parahistorian John Crocitto said, "They're going to conduct a seven hour investigation. They're going to go full dark in the building and try to catalog evidence of paranormal phenomenon."
Kris Williams of "Ghost Hunters" said, "There's a whole interactive part where people at home can watch online four cameras that are set up in different parts of the building."
"Some of the experiences that we've had and hopefully they will catch on Sunday include electronic voice phenomenon or "EVP." That's when you take a recorder and you record ambient sounds or you try to have a conversation with perceived spirits. That's really common of the Central Terminal," explained Crocitto.
Paranormal investigators also hope to experience shadow people or ghosts as they have in the past.
"Beyond Ghosts" parahistorian Brandon Bristow said, "Zachary is an 8-year-old little boy. We don't know exactly why he is here, but he likes to come out and play games and turn on flash lights for us. We do have his voice, we actual have his voice on recordings numerous times."
Why might the Central Terminal have paranormal activity?
Williams said, "This is where a lot of people saw their loved ones off to war, and unfortunately, a lot of them came back in coffins.'
Central Terminal Marketing Director Marty Biniasz said, "Due to the overwhelming public interest from what's happening here with the live broadcast, the Central Terminal is going to be conducting to two ghost tours, two public opportunities for you yourself to come in and see what the "Ghost Hunters" might find this weekend."
