BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - There's a roar in the skies above the 'Queen City' thanks to a proposed helipad atop Buffalo General Hospital.
A Mercy Flight helicopter flew above homes near Buffalo General Hospital to give residents an idea of what it would be like to have a helipad atop the building. The city has to vote to approve the helipad.
Ellicott District Common Council member Darius Pridgen said, “The neighbors thought it was tolerable. Their concern is, of course, making sure that these flights are not the entire day, all day. However, the residents who were, at least at this site, felt the importance of the pad, it’s very important to have a pad in this area. And that they can deal with the sound thus far.”
The Common Council is expected to vote on the helipad on Tuesday, barring any delays from Buffalo General Hospital or residents. If residents have any concerns, they can contact Rev. Pridgen’s office before the vote on Tuesday at 851-4980.
