BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - New plans are flowing for a critical project along Buffalo's waterfront Thursday night.

The Empire State Development Corporation approved a new design for a canal at the commercial slip. It will be a continuous body of water, lined with towpaths on each side. The design matches the original Erie Canal, which flowed through downtown Buffalo.

Officials say public input greatly affected their approval.
