BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police have charged a 35-year-old woman from Michigan with enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity after allegedly traveling to Buffalo to have sex with a 16-year-old boy.
Angie Jenkins of Lowell, MI allegedly began a relationship with the minor through the online video game World of Warcraft in October 2009. The relationship turned into online chats, e-mails, and phone calls and they turned sexual in nature in the spring of 2010.
Jenkins allegedly told the victim she was 21-years-old and in late May, arranged with the victim to come to Buffalo. On June 11th, Jenkins traveled to Buffalo and is alleged to have had sex with the minor in a parked car outside of a department store in Amherst.
The victim's parents discovered the alleged relationship after reviewing the minor's cell phone and noting the out-of-state phone calls. They contacted the FBI after learning Jenkins had traveled to Buffalo. Jenkins was arrested August 31.
