BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Top secret personal information was found scattered to the wind. That's right; it happened again. Paperwork containing private financial information was found in the street.

It's hard enough protecting personal information, but when it's out on the street, for anyone to see, it's impossible. Well, let's just say two young women were very surprised when we showed up at their door. These papers littering the sidewalk on Main Street in Buffalo have Danielle Cretacci pretty upset.

Cretacci said, "That's careless right there."

Roneika Knox was shocked when we showed her.

"Yes, I'm very surprised. I would never think that I would get a call about this," said Knox.

We tracked down both women using the information on these papers. We even had their cell phone numbers. The papers belong to this Rent-A-Center store on Grant Street in Buffalo. So what are they doing on the sidewalk here on Main Street?

The manager said, "Wow, that's not good."

We showed the paperwork to this man who identified himself as the store manager. He told News 4 that one explanation could be that the papers fell out of a delivery truck.

"There's a store on Main Street and Utica. It could be possible that the guys went there, had paperwork in the cab, and when they got out it fell out. It's definitely not intentional that we threw it out there. It's just that, just a little negligence on their part that they're not being careful in letting the stuff go out. I'll definitely look into it," said the manager.

Knox said, "All of my information is on there. My address. Anybody could just come to my house. Try to rob me, anything."

Cretacci said, "I'm going to definitely let them know. Probably go a little bit further on this, too. Definitely. That's serious."

The store manager tells News 4 that he's not happy about this, and plans to get to the bottom of how it happened. The two women thought it was joke when we called them about their names on the papers, but when we showed them, they weren't laughing.
