Playwright Manny Fried dies at age 97

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - He was dubbed "the most dangerous man in western New York" for his union organizing activities and association with communist activities.

Actor, union organizer and prolific playwright Manny Fried has died. He stood up to McCarthyism and served as a spokesman for the working class. Fried died Thursday night in a Kenmore nursing home. He was 97.
