BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A rally at the Erie Canal hopes to get the ball rolling once again on the public's ideas for the site.
The rally was held Saturday afternoon at the canal harbor. Demonstrators hope to bring attention to an upcoming vote by the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation that could scrap the 2004 master plan that was approved by the public.
Tim Tielman said, "It's the public consensus plan, it's the plan that a federal court ordered, they have not been implementing it for the past six years. We say it's time to start implementing that and stop with these constructions of parking ramps and fake canals for stores that are not coming."
The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation meets Monday.
