BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Medialle College recognized young artists, readers and writers Thursday night in Buffalo.

The college held a reception for Buffalo Public School students who took part in the "Speak Your Mind and Shape Your World" project. The students put together a professional art and literary journal to showcase their talents.

Mary Ellen Mulvey of Medialle College said, "We did it during the school year, reaching out to the schools doing writing workshops and working with our teachers as well, to collect the submissions and begin this journal that has now been going strong and stronger every year."

The program has helped develop more than 500 young artists and writers since it started eight years ago.
