BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Firefighters fought a four-alarm fire at Superior Pallets Inc. located in a highly industrial part of Buffalo, at 136 Dingens Street this morning.

The building houses thousands of wood pallets and also diesel fuel. Explosions could be heard going off throughout the building all morning.

The fire started just at 4:07 a.m. Thursday. No one was inside the building, but one employee on the scene apparently noticed smoke and called 911, according to another employee.

Superior Pallets Inc. is the largest distributor of wood pallets in western New York.

Buffalo Police report that the building contains  pallets and tow motors, as well as propane for propellign forklifts.

News 4 talked to an employee who was on his way to work Thursday morning and could smell the fire from the Walden Galleria.

"They'll never put it out, they'll never put it out, I don't even think they'll put it out with ten trucks with water. There's just wood and stuff in there, they'll never put it out. They might get it under control but they'll never put it out," said Superior Pallets Inc. employee Joe Gervaise.

Bus drivers for First Student are having trouble getting to work Thursday morning, due to the fire. This is going to create delays for students getting picked up in the Cheektowaga Sloan District and Lackawanna District.

The 97 Rock morning crew can't get to work Thursday morning, because they are located near the fire.

97 Rock's Rob Lederman was told that because of the propane and gas in their generator, it was best for their safety for them to leave.

Before leaving, Lederman went into his lunch room all he could see out the window was flames, and then he saw an explosion and a funnel of black smoke.
