Anti-fracking advocates rally downtown

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - State lawmakers are still debating whether to allow hydrofracking in New York State.
The New Yorkers Against Fracking Coalition gathered in downtown Buffalo Thursday with a loud message for Governor Andrew Cuomo and the DEC. They believe not enough is being done to study the health impact fracking could have on residents.
Assemblyman Sean Ryan said, "All New Yorkers deserve a full public process regarding licensing of fracking because their health and well-being are affected by fracking. It will affect every New Yorker from New York City, to Buffalo, to the Adirondacks, to the Finger Lakes."
The DEC has until February 27th to finish rules for shale gas drilling. In order to meet the deadline an environmental impact review would have to be published by next week.
