BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The City of Good Neighbors came together Friday night to help the family of a young boy fighting blood cancer.

The Martha Mitchell Center hosted a benefit for 4-year-old Dominic Plummer. Last July he was diagnosed with leukemia. Since then he's received extensive treatments and the costs have been building up.

His mom, Malika Alexander, said, "He was going every Tuesday, for his chemotherapy. There were times when he would get sick and he had to stay in the hospital for days at a time. Commuting... So, yeah... It was a challenge."

Dominic's mother shared some good news - his cancer is in remission right now.
