BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Senate Democratic Conference Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins paid Buffalo a visit Saturday to join Senator Tim Kennedy at an event to help fight gang violence.

At the morning conference held at The New Golden Nugget in Buffalo, a budget amendment was announced.

The Senate Democrats’ budget amendment would target funds for communities to combat rising levels of gang violence and gun crime.

Kennedy blames gang violence for hurting the quality of life in parts of Cheektowaga and Buffalo.
