BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Students at a high school in Buffalo are scoring big in their battle against bullies.
Hutch-Tech High School is the winner of the "anti-bullying text pledge challenge." Students across Buffalo who wanted to take the pledge sent text messages to AT&T. Hutch-Tech won with 219 pledges.
The students learned about their victory during a surprise visit from Mayor Byron Brown and Buffalo Sabre Derek Roy.
"This is not going to stop today. This is just one in a series of many things that we're going to do to send messages against bullying," said Mayor Brown.
Brown began the campaign last January with the goal of stopping bullying in Buffalo.
