BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The sky above Buffalo's waterfront was bursting with red, white and blue as crowds enjoy an Independence Day fireworks display on a steamy 4th of July.
Food, music, and of course, fireworks. Hundreds came out to Canalside to celebrate America's birthday.
"I'm having fun with my family as everything's going on. I'm actually enjoying everything here. I see everybody here is having fun; it's awesome," said Thelena Vasquez.
Robert Bruckman said, "They should have more [events]!"
The festivity was bigger this year than it was last, especially for the youngest patriots. Alyssa Stanton of Depew liked the clowns. While Kylie Peters of Cheektowaga liked having her face painted.
The star-spangled celebration was perfectly situated next to Buffalo's Naval and Military Park. In the midst of the fun and games, a reminder to what Independence Day truly represents as two U.S. Air Force members unfolded and refolded Old Glory.
Paul Savini said, "It's all about patriotism and America."
Madalyn Mayer added, "I like the fireworks and all the parties and everything, but I also like what it all means. I'm real patriotic."
