BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A member of a Lovejoy church is defending its actions after a mother complained about a controversial brochure left where her 7-year-old could find and read it.

The religious tract of alcohol's effects on a family are drawn as a comic but contains a graphic story showing an alcoholic father killing a mother. Brandi Gillette says the pamphlet was left on her front porch and her young daughter read it and was disturbed by the message it contained.

Michael Donrath from the Evangelical Baptist Church tells News 4 the church hands out hundreds of these brochures each week without complaints.
