BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Skateboarders will soon have a new place to play in Buffalo.
The city is rolling ahead with plans to build a $250,000 dollar skate plaza in LaSalle Park. But before the first shovel goes in the ground, City Hall wants to hear from skateboarders at a design workshop.
Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation Andy Rabb said, "We hope after next week's meeting to take those comments, develop a more specific plan and then present that to the community one more time before we hope to bid in November."
That workshop will take place next Wednesday, September 25 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Belle Center. The city hopes to have the park open by next summer.
