BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A car created the hole in a donut shop in Buffalo on Saturday.
At Dingens and South Ogden around 12:30 p.m., a car hit the front of Donut Kraze, causing significant damage to the building. Manager Tim Carney tells News 4 that the building department declared the restaurant unsafe, and therefore he will have to close up shop for a few days. However, Carney said he has a contractor coming out immediately and hopes to be back operational within a week.
Two male customers were injured in the crash, but Carney said the injuries were minor. At least one older patron was taken to the hospital, but Carney reports the gentleman was later released and is said to be doing okay. The female passenger in the car was also injured, and police say her injuries were minor.
The 85-year-old male driver from West Seneca was unhurt. Police say he was attempting to park his vehicle and apparently accelerated. Charges are possible and the investigation continues.
Carney estimated around $50,000 damage was done to Donut Kraze.
