BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two firefighters and one resident were injured from an early morning blaze Saturday that burned down a home at 175 Cazenovia Street.
The call came in around 4:22 a.m. after the second floor first caught fire, thus spreading throughout the rest of the building.
One firefighter suffers from a lower back injury and the other with a shoulder injury. The resident was taken to Mercy Hospital and then ECMC for smoke inhalation.
The Buffalo Red Cross is providing assistance to seven people in connection with this fire.
Due to the heavy damage estimated at $125,000, the home will be demolished.
As a result of the uncontrollable blaze, two nearby homes also suffer damages; 173 Cazenovia St. has around $35,000 worth of damages and 177 Cazenovia St. has about $10,000 worth.
The cause is under investigation.
This was the fourth major blaze in a string of multiple alarm fires in 24 hours in the Buffalo area. Early Friday morning firefighters were called to two fires in the city . One destroyed a home and left a mother dead. Friday afternoon a fire on a narrow street in downtown Buffalo did not spread to adjoining buildings, including some popular restaurants, but still caused $100,000 damage.
