BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two fires on Wednesday kept Buffalo's bravest busy on the city's east side.
Firefighters were alerted by two Meals on Wheels volunteers, who initially spotted a fire at a home on Cornwall Avenue and went to make sure everyone was okay. The occupants got out safely.
That fire broke out not too long after a situation on Wakefield Avenue, where a mattress fire spread to a home there. Firefighters say when they arrived, two men were fighting at the home.
Both of the fires are being investigated.
