BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - As winter approaches, so does the chilly weather and a local group is trying to keep those in need warm this season.

Western New York Muslims donated dozens of blankets, coats, sweaters and socks to the City Mission Monday afternoon. It's their second drop-off as part of their "Blankets Drive."

Hafsah Afzal of WNY Muslims said, "We just want to help out the community, people that are less fortunate, or that can't... It's winter and it's cold, that's the best explanation and that's why we want to help."

The organization aims to help people see beyond the boundaries and encourage diversity in the community.
