BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Residents are demanding change on a dangerous stretch of roadway.
The Parkside Avenue-Florence Avenue intersection has been the site of dozens of crashes throughout the years. Tuesday night, the Parkside Community Association met to discuss the findings of a safety report.
Traffic Committee Chairman Richard Wolk said, "If you change things like the lighting, and you plant more trees, maybe put a median in the road, all of those things will calm traffic. And if the traffic slows, people find alternatives to Parkside."
Buffalo Public Works Commissioner Steven Stepniak said, "We've done some things out there already with chevrons and actually helped to indicate the curve in the road on Parkside. We've added a signal light; we've added a street light out there."
The commissioner says he hopes to implement changes by the spring.
