BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - News 4 has learned Martin Motley, the Buffalo Police officer on injured-on-duty status who visited the home of an ECMC doctor the day the trauma surgeon murdered a woman inside the hospital, has been suspended for four days without pay.

The 47-year-old cop had been on injured-on-duty status for the last three years and an internal investigation into his actions on June 13th determined he had violated the sick-leave confinement policy, according to News 4 sources. Before being brought up on charges within the department, Martin filed for retirement and will retire by the end of the month after 24 years on the force.

Questions swirled about Motley's involvement in the murder-suicide involving ECMC trauma surgeon Timothy Jorden and receptionist Jackie Wisniewski. On June 13th, Jorden entered the hospital and murdered Wisniewski, shooting her five times at point blank range. He then fled to his Lakeshore home and committed suicide along 18-Mile Creek.

When authorities went to Jorden's home that morning, they found Motley there with a Rolex watch, around $5,000 in cash, and his personal, non-police-issued revolver. Police questioned his motive for being there and suspended him from the force, though ultimately determined his actions were not criminal in nature.
