Lafayette Hotel hosts Witches Ball

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A recently renovated Buffalo landmark transformed from glam to ghoul for Halloween.

The Lafayette Hotel hosted the Witches Ball, its first major public event since being restored. The ball was a jam-packed event full of frightening dark art exhibits, fashion shows, food, drinks and even a paranormal investigator.

Organizer Newell Nussbaumer said, "That's really what it boils down to. Because if you think about it, not only is this a historic building, not only has it been brought back to life, not only is it in the epicenter of downtown, but there's so many different businesses in here."

Several of those businesses contributed to Wednesday night's event, and part of the proceeds benefited the Buffalo Arts Society.
