BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Albany is keeping a close eye on Buffalo's waterfront, and Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy toured some of the state-driven projects underway at Canalside.
160 million dollars of private investment has been added to the mix, with the Sabres developing a new harbor center, and the conversion of the former Donovan state office building to house retail, a hotel and law offices.
"The governor has pledged $1 billion in Buffalo. Last year regional councils over $100 million awarded. Anyone that does not think that Governor Cuomo has a passion for development and change in Buffalo and western New York I don't think has been alive over the last almost two year," Lt. Governor Duffy said.
Waterfront projects are creating more than 4,800 construction jobs and more than a thousand permanent jobs are projected.
