BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Medaille College is celebrating a new addition to the school's Buffalo campus.
The official ribbon cutting of the Kevin I. Sullivan Center took place Wednesday morning. "The Sully," as it's more popularly known, now boasts a 700-person events arena, a new fitness center, an expanded bookstore and a late-night cafe.
College and community leaders say the improvements will benefit students now and in the future.
Board of Trustees Chair Charles E. Moran, Jr. said, "The board has committed to reinvesting in the facilities, the people to make the experience of our students the best we can possibly make it."
Assemblyman Crystal Peoples-Stokes added, "To have intsitutions like Medaille growing in the community I represent is very pleasing to me because I know in the future, this is where folks are going to have to get to get into the job market."
The $5.5 million expansion took a year to complete.
