BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thousands of celebrators packed downtown Buffalo's Delaware Avenue Sunday to honor the one and only, Saint Patrick.

Sunday's parade was the city's biggest Saint Patrick's Day celebration, and hours ago it was covered in the Irish colors.

A proud celebrator, Paul Schein said, "We're just hanging out with all the neighbors of Buffalo, NY and we're going to watch a great parade."

Irish dancers stepped their way through the mile-long route as the crowd cheered on Saint Patrick who appeared on several floats and even the streets.

Parade watcher, James Quinn said, "It's just a good time, you know celebrating with all of your own kind, even those that aren't Irish."

New York's Senior Senator Chuck Schumer was playing hype man for the day while State Senator Tim Kennedy marched along side congressman Brian Higgins waving at cheering crowds.

News 4 crews strolled through the streets, along with many familiar faces like Nalina Shapiro, CW star Matt Snyder, Sports anchor Steve Veesy, Don Paul, as well as Don Postles.

"Top of the morning to ya, lovely day here in the Queen City," said our very own Don Postles.

The cold temperatures did not stop the parade goers, approximately all 70,000 of them, from celebrating St. Patrick's Day.
