BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The group PUSH Buffalo wants to change your perception of the city's west side. And it's leading by example.
PUSH, which stands for "People United for Sustainable Housing," showed off several newly refurbished houses Thursday on Massachusetts Avenue. City leaders say this section of Buffalo has come a long way.
Common Councilman David Rivera said, "For a long time there was a lot of disinvestment, people moving out. And now we're seeing people wanting to move back into the neighborhood. It's because of organizations like PUSH Buffalo that have done great work in changing the mindsets and attitudes."
PUSH is also in the process of turning a long-vacant paint store into apartments.
