SOUTH BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The childhood home of former network TV reporter Tim Russert is now a pile of rubble.
Crews tore down the Woodside Avenue house in South Buffalo on Wednesday. A fire heavily damaged the two-family home a few weeks ago.
Neighbors who have lived in the area for decades and knew Russert are sad to see the landmark go.
Mary Harris said, "He was just a darling little boy, and he played football there in front of his house and baseball. He was very athletic."
Six people lived in the house. Everyone who was home at the time escaped unharmed.
The fire is still under investigation.
