BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Should students have a voice on the Buffalo School Board?
Stephon Wright, a senior at Emerson High School, thinks so. He made his case before the board at Wednesday night's school board meeting. Wright was joined by Sophie Gallivan, the student representative to the Rochester City School Board.
"I would like to see students rise up from the ground, and show them, "I'm a student, and I have a voice, and I'm here, and I am the future,"" Wright said.
Gallivan added, "It makes it so that the people that the district and the Board of Education are working for are heard, too."
The school board has not made a decision on Wright's proposal.
