BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo native was featured during the Super Bowl as the sneaky wife in the popular Tide commercial.
Carmen Ruby Floyd played "the wife" in the commercial that had crowds laughing about the "Montana miracle" stain. Kellogg School of Management rated the ad number one among many contenders, calling it engaging and well-scripted.
Floyd said, "It was quite wonderful and all we did was laugh on set. It was one of the easiest, best jobs. It's a wonderful blessing, it's really really great and I'm so fortunate to do this."
Floyd got her big acting break after auditioning for a part in the Lion King at Shea's in Buffalo. She played as one of the hyenas. Since then, she's toured in Toronto and even played a part in the revival of Porgy and Bess on Broadway.
Along the way, Floyd has mingled with some of the most highly regarded talent in the field, like Bernadette Peters. She even had the opportunity to meet former president Bill Clinton.
But the 33-year-old actress says her Super Bowl role was very different.
"A hundred something million people were watching, so obviously people are going to know me for this," she noted.
And certainly some fans are thankful for her final line at the end of the commercial, where Floyd turns to the camera and says, "Go Ravens."
