BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It's been part of the local business landscape for years.

But Rosa's is filing for Chapter 11, raising questions about its long-term future in western New York.

Rosa's is expected to file for bankruptcy, later Thursday.

News 4 went to Rosa's corporate offices to get a comment, and was given the cold shoulder.

News 4 learned Wednesday that Rosa's was going to file bankruptcy.

Sources say, employees are not surprised by the news because of declining sales and recent lay offs.

Rosa's will reorganize the stores, but it is unclear what is going to happen next.

Customers News 4 spoke with want answers.

"I think it should be known, I don't think they can just brush it under the table," said one customer.

Customer Huey Hornsby said, "I think they should let everyone know what's going on, because I'm a little nervous right now about picking up this couch. I guess this is what the economy is doing to everyone right now."

When a company is in a situation like this, they generally try to honor sales and warranties for as long as they can.
