BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Local leaders and community members received an update on inner harbor development in the queen city.
The Canal Side Project would serve as a new downtown center, featuring a Bass Pro Shop location at the former Aud site. The district would also showcase the waterfront, along with market places and restaurants. Congressman Brian Higgins says the project couldn't move forward until big government stepped aside.
"A lot of these projects were languishing because they would be stuck on some bureaucrat's desk in Albany and it wouldn't be moving. That's changed," said Higgins.
The New York Power Authority has pledged $105 million to help pay for the Canal Side Project in Buffalo.
