BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Contamination from mold has prompted the sudden closing of the northwest district police station in Buffalo.

The "D" District station on Hertel Avenue has been shut down as a precaution based on preliminary testing.

Mayor Brown said, "We want to make sure that we are insuring the the health and safety of our officers, that's our first and foremost priority. We're certainly going to relocate personnel so that they can work in an environment that's safe and healthy."

Officers from "D" District will will be stationed temporarily in a closed school at Lisbon and Cordoba. You can reach them by calling 851-4403 or 911.
