Senecas profits rise in first quarter

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Seneca Gaming Corporation is hoping to leave the red ink in the rear-view mirror.

The Senecas say year-to-year profits for the first quarter of its fiscal year rose 23 percent to $14.1 million. While revenue actually fell during that time, the Gaming Corporation was able to stay in the black by slashing operating costs by five percent.
