Canisius softball team in tournament

COLUMBUS, OH (WIVB) - The NCAA Tournament awaits the Canisius College softball team - a familiar post-season stop for them.

It's the 11th time in Canisius history the softball team has qualified.

They play the Ohio State Buckeyes Thursday night in Columbus.

They've been there before, and they've won on the national stage.

Now the Griffs will make their third straight appearance, but have the challenge of facing the 11th best team in the nation.

To get there, the Griffs won their 12th MAC Championship over the weekend.

It may not have been possible without the help of some of their underclassman, which will be new to spotlight of the NCAA Tournament.
