AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Amherst Police are thanking the public for their tips, which led officers to arrest two suspects accused of breaking into vehicles at a busy shopping mall.

Police say media reports helped spread the word about two people breaking into cars in the Boulevard Mall parking lot. After surveillance images were released, the department received numerous tips.

Detectives tracked down and arrested 23-year-old Joseph Wiesmore and 28-year-old Daniel Bulera, both of Cheektowaga. Wiesmore is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal facilitation and Bulera is charged with grand larceny, criminal mischief and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
