BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Police were called to a double shooting in the city Tuesday night.
Shots were fired around 6:45 p.m. just outside the Broadway Convenience Deli on Broadway Avenue and 22-year-old Titus Foots and 35-year-old Kristen Caccamise were struck. A neighbor tells News 4 she heard around 20 shots fired.
Krystyna Dobosz lives above the store. She said she saw what looked like a man shot in the leg and a female employee of the deli shot in the waist. Dobosz said both appeared to be moving and responding to paramedics. Police say both victims were taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.
The deli is flanked on either side by abandoned buildings. Dobosz says over the years, the area has regressed into a neighborhood full of drug deals and gun violence.
"It's been very scary. Drugs and lots of things. It's scary to even walk outside," she said.
About a mile and a half away, an officer in an unmarked vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle accident while responding to the scene. It appears the accident was minor and the officer was unhurt.
Caccamise was treated and released from ECMC. Foots remains in the hospital in stable condition. Police have not stated what they believe could be the motive behind this shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 847-2255.
