BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Top police officials and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown spoke with reporters Wednesday about what they found through the execution of search warrants on Monday and Tuesday.
Officers seized six guns, heroin, marijuana and over $13,000 in cash. Police say "Operation Restoration" is all about improving the quality of life in Buffalo.
Chief of Detectives Dennis Richards said, "We're trying to restore each of those neighborhoods to their former vibrancy by doing exactly what we did - 54 raids, 44 arrests."
Officials credit calls to the city's 311 call center and confidential tipline with complaints about the homes that police searched.
