BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Eighteen years to life, that's how long Jose Figeuroa will spend behind bars.

The 31-year-old confessed last year to murdering 17-year-old Alex Martinez back in 1998.

Firgueroa shot the victim in the head, after breaking into his Grant Street home.

"It was street related is how I characterize it, drug related. This individual was recruited from Puerto Rico brought into Buffalo for the purpose of performing this," said Homicide Bureau Chief James Bargnesi.

It was previously reported that Figueora was a Pastor.

However, his lawyer has clarified that his client was just an active member at his Buffalo church.
