BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Jawaan Daniels was shot and killed at a bus stop on his way home from school.
A Buffalo school spokesperson tells News 4, 15-year-old Jawaan Daniels was suspended last Friday. That was the day he was killed.
The Lafayette High School freshman was shot to death at a west side bus stop. It was just after 1 p.m. at West Delavan and Grant Street. The boy managed to cross Grant Street and then collapsed. He later died at ECMC.
Police told News 4 they do not know who shot him, but they are making progress in the investigation.
Jawaan's mother did not want to go on camera but tells News 4, the school did contact her last week to say Jawaan was suspended.
Right now, it is unclear if the suspension and the shooting are connected.
News 4 will bring you latest information as it becomes available.
