BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 21-year-old New York man has pleaded guilty to a racketeering charge stemming from a gang shooting in Buffalo that injured three people, including one who spent more than two months in the hospital.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Deon Allen, whose nickname is "Slick," faces up to 20 years in prison following Tuesday's plea in federal court.
Prosecutors say he'll also be ordered to pay restitution to Medicaid and the victims' other insurance providers. An amount hasn't yet been determined.
Authorities say Allen was a member of a Buffalo gang linked to murder, cocaine dealing and robberies and was involved in a drive-by shooting in July 2011 that wounded three people. Two suffered superficial wounds but the third required a lengthy hospital stay.
Sentencing is Nov. 13.
