Man admits embezzling from labor unions

Lancaster man pleaded guilty to felony charge

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thomas Pokrywczynski, age 59, of Lancaster, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of embezzling from two labor unions.

Embezzlement from a labor organization carries a maximum possible sentence of a term of imprisonment o ffive years, a fine of $10,000, and a mandatory $100 special assessment.

 

Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward H. White, who handled the case, stated that from January 2002 through March of 2008, the defendant embezzled approximately $183,000 from the New York State Legislative Conference Board and approximately $71,000 from the Transit Union Local 1342. Pokrywczynski was treasurer of both unions..
