Man learns sentence for dog fighting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo man who admits to staging and promoting dog fighting in the Queen City, will spend a year behind bars.

Thomas Cox, 41, was sentenced Tuesday morning.

The SPCA took five dogs from his A Street home more than a year ago.

Some of the dogs had severe injuries and had to be put down.

As part of his sentence, Cox cannot own a pet for three years.
