BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Police are on scene at South Elmwood and Trinity Place, where there were calls of an officer down and calls of shots fired.
News 4 has confirmed, Buffalo Police Detective John Garcia was shot Monday afternoon. Garcia was reportedly shot in the face and upper shoulder.
Detective Garcia has been taken to ECMC for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The officer is alert, conscious, and expected to be OK.
Buffalo Police are securing the perimeter of the hospital, as well as the scene on Trinity Place.
