Police say man hit firetruck at fire scene

DARIEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Firefighters in Genesee County had to deal with more than a house fire on Tuesday.

Sheriff's deputies say 33-year-old Wallace Urf's car hit a fire engine at the scene on Broadway in Darien. A deputy says he searched Urf's car and found marijuana. Urf was not hurt. Also on Tuesday, a firefighter was hit by a 21-year-old driver from Buffalo while directing traffic at the scene of a minor two-vehicle accident. The firefighter is continuing to recover and the driver is facing charges.

Urf's charged with unlawful marijuana possession. The house was destroyed.
