NEW YORK, N.Y. (WIVB) - A downstate lawmaker who switched sides in the summer stalemate could now face a year in prison.
Thursday, a judge found Queens Senato Hiram Monserrate guilty of misdemeanor assault for slashing his girlfriend's face, even though she testified that it was an accident.
He'll keep his job for now, although he could be censured or
expelled.
